Tyler-Heart Tissue Recipient
 I was 10 years old On July 3 at 11:pm 2001. I was being treated for asthma but the doctors soon found out I was in congestive heart failure. I was immediately transported to Kosair children’s hospital buy private jet.
When I arrived at the hospital, I was not in good shape. They called my mother in and told her to say her goodbyes because the bottom root of my heart was gone and my main aortic value was eaten away. At this time, there was no way I was going to get what I needed to survive. They gave her some time with me and said I had about 30 mins to live. Around ten minuets later the Doctors came and said “if u sign this paper your son will have a 10% chance to live, but if u don’t he will be gone in the next 15 minuets. There was a donor that had the bottom root I needed and a valve that matched at 100%. I’m here today because my mom signed these papers and because some generous donor family said “YES” to organ and tissue donation. I thank Jesus Christ ever day for gift of life that he gave me through some one else, and for my donor’s selflessness. God is great !!! |
