December 20, 2018…a date that holds such significant meaning to not only me, personally, but also to my dad. This is now a day we get to celebrate a special anniversary that not many get to…it is our Kidney Anniversary! I am beyond blessed to share this day with my dad. To help give life to the man who helped give me life.

The road to donation was not an easy one. There were many highs and lows, but the journey was beautiful.

Although there have been some bumps in the road, “super girl” (the name he gave his new kidney) is loving her new home. Each year to celebrate our kidney-versary, we have the tradition of getting matching t-shirts and a celebration cake. It’s a special time to for us to appreciate the miracle that has happened and celebrate the gift of life!
