Lacy- Tissue Donor Daughter

My Dad, Curtis Thacker, lived his life to the absolute fullest. So much so, that he used up all of his heart loving others. About 5 years ago, he was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure and had a defibrillator placed. Year after year we went to countless doctors appointments where they eventually called him a “Medical Anomaly” because of how he could get around so easily with such little of his heart functioning (5-10% to be exact).

On January 31st 2022 our Dad was out of pain and at peace with the Lord celebrating a new life in Heaven. He was very vocal about organ donation before he passed. He was able to donate his corneas (which have already been accepted and helping a young man in New Albany, IN). Even though his heart and kidney weren’t able to be donated to a human body, they were requested by the Cleveland Clinic to be studied because doctors were amazed with how he just kept going.

Organ Donation has now become a big part of my life and I want to share Curtis’s story with everyone. I want to keep his memory alive!
