“Ordinary Angels,” starring Hilary Swank and Alan Ritchson, highlights the heroic deeds of strangers in Louisville, Ky., as they came together to shovel a landing pad during the historic snowstorm so that Schmitt could be airlifted to Omaha, Nebraska, for a transplant. Swank plays the role of a Louisville hairdresser, Sharon Stevens Evans, who befriended Schmitt’s widowed father and helped rally the community to help save her. Stevens Evans wrote the book, “Ordinary Angels,” which helped inspired the film. The identically titled movie was produced by Kingdom Story Company and Lionsgate.
