Circuit Clerks’ Trust For Life evolves to Donate Life Kentucky Trust
The new name celebrates a new chapter in organ donation education and advocacy
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Jan. 8, 2024) – In a strategic and purposeful evolution, Kentucky Circuit Court Clerks’ Trust For Life is proud to announce its transformation and rebranding as Donate Life Kentucky Trust. This change represents a momentous step forward in the organization’s ongoing mission to educate about donation and encourage everyone to join the organ, eye and tissue donation registry while obtaining a driver’s license and beyond.
Founded by the Kentucky Circuit Court Clerks in 1992, the Donate Life Kentucky Trust is dedicated to inspiring individuals to support the mission of donation and register as donors while getting their driver’s license and through other portals to the registry, including online while renewing car tags, and the Kentucky Online Gateway system.
The decision to adopt the DBA “Donate Life Kentucky Trust” is rooted in a desire to amplify the organization’s reach and effectiveness in raising awareness about the importance of donation. The organization aims to engage more individuals and communities in this lifesaving cause by aligning the name with its core mission and the national Donate Life brand.
“With our founders, Kentucky’s Circuit Clerks, and our board of directors’ support, we are excited to embark on this new chapter as Donate Life Kentucky Trust,” said Shelley Snyder, Executive Director at Donate Life Kentucky Trust. “Our mission remains steadfast – to advocate for organ, eye and tissue donation. Now, with our new name, we believe we can connect even more deeply with the people of Kentucky, fostering a stronger, clearer and more united commitment to saving lives through donation.”
Donate Life Kentucky Trust will continue the vital work initiated by Circuit Clerks since its inception. “The Circuit Clerks issued driver’s licenses for several decades, and now that the responsibility of driver’s license has moved to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, we believe this is a good time to update our organization’s name,” explains Gina Lyle, former Circuit Clerk of Henry County and current Donate Life Kentucky Trust Board Chair.
With the dollars raised through driver’s license registrations and other philanthropic endeavors, the Donate Life Kentucky Trust works with organ procurement organizations and other strategic partners to connect with communities, schools, healthcare providers, and individuals to promote the importance of organ, eye and tissue donation. The organization remains committed to providing resources, support, and education to encourage individuals to register as donors, support transplant patients and donor families, and make a meaningful impact on those in need.
The transition to Donate Life Kentucky Trust reflects the organization’s dedication to innovation and progress in organ donation advocacy. The name change will be accompanied by an updated visual identity, aligning with the dynamic direction of the organization utilizing the national brand of the cause of donation, Donate Life.
As Donate Life Kentucky Trust, the organization looks forward to building on its legacy and fostering a culture of giving that resonates across the state’s diverse communities. This change is a testament to the organization’s ongoing commitment to saving lives and ensuring that the gift of donation continues to be a beacon of hope for individuals in need of lifesaving transplants.
