The Kentucky Circuit Court Clerks’ Endowment Scholarship Program was created by the Donate Life Kentucky Trust nonprofit organization.  It was named in honor of the Circuit Clerks for their decades of dedication to this mission.

“For over 30 years, the Circuit Clerk’s office issued driver’s license and asked every customer about registering as a donor and giving $1 to public education about organ, eye and tissue donation.   Although we no longer issue driver’s licenses, we remain steadfast in our commitment to helping our community through education and outreach about this lifechanging Donate Life mission. In our county, and every county in Kentucky, people have been saved and healed by the gift of life.  Today, over 1000 Kentuckians still wait for their gift of life.  Organ, eye and tissue donors are heroes,” explains Cortney Shewmaker, Boyle Circuit Clerk.  “Giving back to these students, many of whom are donor families & recipients, is such an honor. I extend a heartfelt congratulations to all the scholarship winners and express appreciation to every applicant for their dedication to the Donate Life mission.”
