10 0N 10: GROWING THE ORGAN DONOR REGISTRY THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

This year has emphasized the importance of families planning for the future, as unexpected as it may be. On Thursday, December 10, 2020, the Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates and the Kentucky Circuit Clerks’ Trust For Life are hosting a virtual event, ’10 on 10,’ in efforts to grow the Kentucky Organ Donor Registry. Individuals are challenged to register 10 people as organ donors by sharing their customized digital registry campaign page on social media. Most importantly, ’10 on 10’ is encouraging families to talk about donations and share their wishes with their loved ones.

The activity is simple and can be done from a phone, tablet, or laptop. Anyone interested in participating should tune into a virtual training event on Facebook the evening before, December 9. At that time participants will create their customized campaign page link and be given tips on the best way to grow the registry! In order to access this training, the participant will mark themselves as ‘going’ on the Facebook event page. Live updates will be streamed on Facebook throughout the day on December 10.

Participants will be entered into a drawing for a prize valued at $250. The participant who registers the most donors through their campaign page will be awarded a prize valued at $100. To be entered to win, campaign links must be emailed to Crysta McGee at c.mcgee@kodaorgan.org by December 10. Winners will be announced on Friday, December 11, 2020.
